Showcasing both the wild and warm side of your furry friend

A relaxed session where you can let your cat be hunting, your dog go on zoomies, and moments filled with laughter happen naturally.

The beauty of everyday moments

My approach brings together the sharp instincts of wildlife photography and the warmth of pet portraiture to capture animals at their absolute best. Instead of chasing stiff studio perfection, I focus entirely on freezing candid, natural moments that happen organically. We keep a completely relaxed pace throughout the session, ensuring there is zero pressure on you or your furry companion. By prioritizing both pet and pawrent comfort above all else, the experience feels like a fun, stress-free outing rather than a formal shoot. Ultimately, my goal is to craft meaningful, timeless memories that beautifully show the authentic bond you share with your furkid.

Preparing for your outdoor session

Outdoor sessions are all about letting your furry friends run wild, exploring nature and simply being their hilarious self. Here are a few tips to help things feel relaxed and stress-free.

  • Beat the Heat: We shoot at sunrise or sunset to keep your furkid cool and comfortable.
  • Hydration is Key: Bring a water bottle and portable bowl to keep them fully hydrated.
  • High-Value Bribery: Pack their absolute favorite treats to easily grab their attention outdoors.
  • Favorite Toys: Bring squeakers, teasers or frisbees to spark their natural, high-energy action expressions.
  • Pre-Shoot Grooming: Give them a good brush and wipe away any eye discharge beforehand. If they are due for grooming, book it a few days ahead of the shoot.
  • Pawrent Outfits: Wear comfortable, neutral-colored clothing that you don't mind getting a little dusty.
  • Stay Protected: Bring pet-safe mosquito repellent since we will be exploring lush, green spaces, paired with sunscreen for you.
  • Mind the Leash: don't worry about having your furkid on-leash during the session; I can usually work some magic to remove leashes or harnesses during editing.

Preparing for your at-home session

At-home sessions always feel best when you are just yourself, less staged, simply capturing candidly a slice of life at home. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for this experience:

  • Chase the Light: Identify your brightest rooms. Clear spaces near large windows or balcony doors, as natural daylight will be our main light source.
  • The Power Declutter: Quickly clear away tissues, remotes, and cables from sofas or floors. Minimizing background distractions keeps the focus entirely on your pet.
  • Freshen the Linens: If your pet loves lounging on beds or sofas, use solid, neutral-toned sheets and blankets to create a clean, timeless backdrop.
  • Secure Open Spaces: For safety during cat or small-pet sessions, ensure all windows, balconies, and open grilles are securely closed or meshed before we begin.
  • Hide High-Value Rewards: Put away favorite toys and treats an hour beforehand. Reintroducing them during the shoot guarantees peak excitement and alert expressions.
  • Turn Off Overhead Lights: Switch off harsh fluorescent or white ceiling lights. Mixing artificial light with natural daylight creates distracting, unnatural color casts on fur.
  • Respect Safe Spaces: If your pet hides initially, let them. We will start slowly, allowing them to acclimatize to my presence and camera at their own pace.
  • Dress Cozily: Wear comfortable, neutral-colored lifestyle clothing (like soft knits or pastels) that complements the warm, relaxed vibe of being at home together.
